Another brick in the wall

I decided to finish off my heavy deadlifts, military presses and weighted chins workout today with a 3 mile run. As I am still contemplating the London Goruck Challenge, I thought I’d get a little taste by adding some bricks. Making the rucksack weigh in at about 10kg or 22lbs.

It certainly wasn’t easy but surprisingly not as bad as I thought, although it was only 3 miles so it remains to be seen how I’ll manage as I up the mileage.

I also learned three things today:
1. Wrap and pad the bricks properly otherwise they will rip your bag apart.
2. Bricks produce a large amount of dust and it gets everywhere. See point 1 above.
3. I have never had the need to buy bricks before and I’m not sure what I was expecting but I was pleasantly surprised to find that my 4 bricks cost me a grand total of £1.40.
